Pinehurst Care Home, Ilfracombe is registered with CQC as a residential care home providing personal care. If necessary, carers assist with mobility, dressing, bathing, eating and personal hygiene.
Our staff are also trained and experienced in caring for people with dementia, including Alzheimer’s.
How We Care
Everyone’s care needs are different. Some people living at Pinehurst are able to manage quite independently while others require more support. Potential new residents are met and assessed by our Registered Manager, Julie Farrell, to ensure that we are able to provide the necessary facilities and level of care.
After talking to a new resident, their family and sometimes their doctor or social worker, we put together a detailed, personalised care plan which is carried out day to day. As people’s needs change, perhaps becoming more complex, the care plan is adapted.
Because Pinehurst is a smaller care home all our staff get to know the residents well. Also, each person is assigned a carer who spends extra time with them on a one-to-one basis, discusses their needs and interests, their past and their memories, and can arrange outings – perhaps for shopping, going to church, a meeting, or just for a walk.
District nurses, GPs, chiropodists, physiotherapists and other health professionals visit as required.
We can organise patient transport for a resident’s medical appointments and provide an escort if a family member or friend is unable to accompany them.
